• Any good assessment plan must consider culture status, attitudes, and conditions of the people being assessed.
  
• The tool or process being applied that is culturally relevant, sensitive and legitimate will reflect the worldview, values, customs, and practices of the targeted population.
  
• It is important that the instruments take into account the socio-economic status, physical and environmental conditions of participants.
  
• Further, the attitudes held by the client about each of the preceding elements must be examined and determined in order to provide both participant and helper appropriate information for optimal planning.
