DEBBIE BU’IE, CCDCI– Debbie Bu’Ie has served at APDS in the capacity of the Female Substance Abuse Treatment Counselor and facilitates the APDS Parenting class since 1999. Debbie is a certified Domestic Violence Instructor under the Duluth Minnesota Model and holds an Associates Degree in Legal Assisting and is a trained foster care parent.

DR. MORIBA (RICHARD) C. KELSEY , Ph.D – Dr. Kelsey co-founded APDS along with his wife Dr. Barbara Kelsey. Dr. Kelsey’s extensive education includes a Doctorate of Philosophy in Counselor Education, The Ohio State University; Master of Science in Guidance and Counseling, Kent State University; and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, Kent State University. Dr. Kelsey is a Licensed Psychologist, and certified Rites of Passage trainer. Dr. Moriba C. Kelsey, has brought years of experience and education to APDS and the African/African-American community .

EMILY LATHAM –Emily Latham serves in the capacity of Instructor for the Imhotep Learning Institute After School Program and Arts & Crafts facilitator for the Summer Camp Program. She also serves as the APDS Activities Assistant. Mrs. Latham brings several years of experience in the child care field and adds a special touch to everything she does at APDS .

CHESTER MAYO – Chester Mayo serves as the APDS Maintenance Engineer and Safety Officer. Elder Chet, as he is well known has worked with APDS since 1993. Elder Chet is retired from the United States Postal Service and has worked at the Columbus Board of Education as a custodian for a period of ten years. His hobbies are bowling and fishing .

TANYA POWELL – Tanya Powell serves as APDSHuman Resource Officer and Client Rights Officer. Shehas an extensive background in the secretarial/administrative field. As the APDS Client Rights Officer, she serves as an advocate for all APDS customers.

CHANDRA RAINS–Chandra Rains currently serves as the APDS Vice President of Operations. She is a mother of two boys. She is high energy and always excited about taking on new challenges. Chandra has been a member of the APDS team since the year 2000. Her background is in business administration and customer service related fields. Her continual pursuance of education, and experience in the accounting and the marketing professions has put her on the fast track to becoming one of central Ohio’s young executives to watch. Additionally, Ms. Rains serves her community as a member of the Southside Initiative, Urban Crime Advisory Commission, the Livingston Avenue Collaborative for Community Development (LACCD), the Business Professional Women’s Organization, and is the Chair of one of Central Ohio’s fastest growing African/African American cultural festivals, FESTAC (Festival of Art and Culture) .

CAROL STEGALL, CDCA – Carol Stegall serves in the capacity of APDS Alcohol & Other Drug Counselor. Ms. Stegall began her relationship with APDS as a part-time Administrative Generalist in November of 2000, and moved into the position on a full-time basis by January of 2001. Ms. Stegall demonstrated great commitment and dedication to fulfilling her administrative responsibilities, while working to meet the requirements for Registered Candidate status. In March 2003, Mrs. Stegall’s new Registered Candidate status combined with previous experience with non-profit agencies that provide services to individuals at risk, unlocked the door for her to come on board in the capacity in which she serves today. With a strong commitment to service, Carol renewed her RC status in March 2004 and has been accepted for enrollment at Columbus State Community College in her efforts to meet the requirements to sit for her CDCA (Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant) certification. She remains an active member in her church as a licensed Evangelist/Teacher, with a heart to serve

LYNETTE R. MOMAN- Lynette Moman presently serves in the capacity of Imhotep Learning Institute Program Coordinator, and APDS Program Evaluator. She is very enthusiastic about working with today’s youth, and has a very strong desire to see change in their direction concerning education, self-awareness, and future development. She looks to see the good in everyone, attempting to be the waterer for every good seed that has been planted. Forever wearing a contagious smile that she looks to pass on to others, Lynette brings to APDS a genuine love for others as she brings forth her clerical expertise and compassion for helping others whenever possible .

CAMILLA RAKES - Camilla Rakesserves inthe capacity of Chemical Dependency Counselor. Ms. Rakes arrived at APDS with eight years of experience in the field of chemical dependency. Ms. Rakes moved through the ranks at Maryhaven Inc., from Receptionist, to a Chemical Dependency Technician, and then to a Chemical Dependency Counselor. She also worked for two years at Volunteers of America as the Intake Specialist, serving chronically homeless men. Ms.Rakes is a full-time single parent, and a part-time student at Wilberforce University working on her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Organizational Communications. She is currently preparing a case study for the CCDC II Oral Exam to be taken at the Ohio Credentialing Board through the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services.

DR. AHMADU BABA-SINGHRI – Dr. A. Baba-Singhri serves in the capacity of APDS Prevention Specialist & Grant Development, Officer and has been with APDS since December 2003. Dr. Baba-Singhri facilitates Adult Anger Management class as well as the pre-teenage Personal Development class. Before coming to APDS, Dr. Baba-Singhri served as Program Evaluator & Coordinator (on consultancy basis) for Wayne County Community College, Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Baba-Singhri currently serves as Adjunct Professor of Sociology at both Wayne State University and Wayne County Community College, Detroit Michigan; Adjunct Professor of Criminology, Central Michigan University, Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Dr. A. Baba-Singhri also worked as National Evaluator for the Family & Community Violence prevention Program, Central State University, Wilberforce, Ohio; he is also the Chief Consultant of Baba-Singhri Program Evaluations. Dr. Baba-Singhri holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in biological Science Education from the Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, a Master of Art degree in Sociology (Criminology), from the University of Toledo, Ohio, and a Ph.D. in Sociology (Demography) from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan.

CHARMAINE JORDAN – Charmaine Jordan serves in the capacity of Office Generalist. Originally from New York City, she moved to Columbus about twelve years ago and is the proud mother of two children. Charmaine, has worked extensively in the customer service field and would like to pursue a career in Psychology .

DEMETRA EZELL, LPC/CR, CDCA, - Demetra Ezellis a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Ohio, and currently facilitates the APDS Personal Development II class for teens, as well as Adult Anger Management class. Demetra is also pursuing a license to become a Chemical Dependency Counselor. Before she became a full-time employee, Demetra began her counseling career as a Practicum student and then as an intern at APDS in the 2003 academic school year .

DARRYL GREEN, R.A. – Darryl Green serves in the capacity of Prevention Specialist, facilitating the APDS Rights of Passage for teen’s ages 13 to 17, and co-facilitating the APDS’S Domestic Violence Education Class, AFAR-Africentric Freedom from Abusive Relationships. Mr. Green is a member of the APDS Elders Council and is involved in the APDS Association For the Study of Classical African Civilizations. As the founder of Children of the Sun, Darryl Green has worked with many local and national organizations and agencies teaching Rites of Passage and Martial Arts to the Elders and Youth of the African American Community. He has over 30 years experience as a community activist. Mr. Green is a member of the APDS Council of Elders, The 100 Black Men of Central Ohio, Afrikan National Rite of Passage United Kollective (ANROPUK) .

MINETTE BOWLES - Minette Bowles serves in the capacity of Special Assistant to the President and Chief Executive Officer. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Ms. Bowles moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1998. Minette brings three years of management experience in the community service arena, as well as several years of experience working with elementary & middle school age children. Ms. Bowles is presently pursuing a degree in Human Development and Family Science.

NATASHA TEAGUE – Natasha Teague serves in the capacity of APDS Intake Coordinator and Administrative Assistant. Natasha was raised in Columbus and graduated from Pickerington High School. She is a bright young lady who is interested in working with children. In the near future, Natasha plans to return to school to pursue a degree in Child Psychology .

RICARDO WILKINS - Ricardo Wilkins serves as a contractor who facilitates the APDS Computer Literacy program for both youth and adults. Ricardo also serves as the webmaster for the APDS website, and as a network and hardware administrator for technology needs at APDS. Ricardo’s company, Nehemiah Enterprises, has been serving Columbus for over 6 years, working in the areas of web development, software programming, technology training and consulting. Ricardo has a B.S. in Computer & Information Science from The Ohio State University.

SHELLARIE P. BROWN Shellarie Brown serves in the capacity of APDS Office Generalist. A native of Akron, Ohio, Ms. Brown relocated to the Columbus area in the spring of 2005. Ms. Brown is a recent college graduate who has received her Associate Degree in Medical Business and Applied Science from the National Institute of Technology .

DR. MONIQUE COLEMAN, Ph. D – Dr. Monique Coleman serves in the capacity of Clinical Supervisor. Dr. Monigue N. Coleman, a native of Los Angeles, California, earned a B.A. in Psychology from San Diego State University, a M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Bowie State University in Maryland, and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Wright State University, School of Professional Psychology in Dayton, Ohio.

Dr. Coleman is a licensed clinical psychologist, and has trained and worked in various settings such as John’s Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, the Dayton Veterans Administration Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio and local inpatient and outpatient psychiatric facilities. She began acquiring her knowledge in forensic psychological evaluations at the Timothy B. Moritz maximum-security psychiatric facility in 1994 and has gone on since to provide evaluations for Common Pleas, Municipal, and Juvenile courts in several counties around the state of Ohio. She is president and CEO of Forensic Psychological Services, Inc., a private practice that is state certified by the Ohio Department of Mental Health to provide Forensic Evaluation Services, Consultation, and Mental Health Education. She continues to conduct civil, criminal, and family court evaluations, with the primary emphasis on competency to stand trial, sanity and death penalty mitigation evaluations.

Additionally, Dr. Coleman is past president of the Central Ohio Association of Black Psychologists and a member of various national and local professional psychological associations. She was governor appointed to the Task Force for the Investigation and Prosecution of Child Abuse and Neglect, served on the Ohio State Board of Psychology Disciplinary Guidelines Committee, the Ohio Psychological Association Diversity Committee and was a board member of the Columbus Montessori Education Center. She received the Award For Excellence in the General Practice of Psychology (1997) and during 2001 she contributed to articles in Black Enterprise Magazine and the Cincinnati Enquirer. She was also nominated to appear in the 2002-2003 edition of the National Register’s Who’s Who In Executives and Professionals as a business leader in her field
